The present review article describes invertebrate venoms and various toxins secreted by them. Animal are stores of novel peptides which exhibit a wide variety biological effects actively interact with pathogen parasites. selectively bind to ion channels receptors display show hemolytic, cytolytic, proteolytic, anti-diabetic, antimicrobial analgesic activity. These generate allergic inflammatory responses in victims. disrupt cell membranes inhibit bacterial growth kill virus entry into host cells obstruct replication. were also found highly effective against protozoan fungal pathogens. By using bioinformatics tools, methods approaches, both structural functional diversity toxin could be harnessed develop broad-spectrum drugs for therapeutics. an inexhaustible source bioactive molecules, used the development immune diagnostics, pharmaceuticals therapeutics bio-insecticides. Present tries explore exceptional specificity high potency animal drug development.

متن کاملAnimal toxins and their analgesic properties
One of the main problems in many diseases is pain which has soc ial, psychological and physical symptoms on patients. Due to the side effects of analgesic drugs, new effective compounds to reduce pain are needed. Ionic channels, acetylcholine and gamma aminobutyric acid receptors and molecules such as nitric oxide are involved in pain paths. Animal venoms contain small molecules with various p...
متن کاملComputational approaches for designing potent and selective analogs of peptide toxins as novel therapeutics.
Peptide toxins provide valuable therapeutic leads for many diseases. As they bind to their targets with high affinity, potency is usually ensured. However, toxins also bind to off-target receptors, causing potential side effects. Thus, a major challenge in generating drugs from peptide toxins is ensuring their specificity for their intended targets. Computational methods can play an important r...
متن کاملClanTox: a classifier of short animal toxins
Toxins are detected in sporadic species along the evolutionary tree of the animal kingdom. Venomous animals include scorpions, snakes, bees, wasps, frogs and numerous animals living in the sea such as the stonefish, snail, jellyfish, hydra and more. Interestingly, proteins that share a common scaffold with animal toxins also exist in non-venomous species. However, due to their short length and ...
متن کاملP 145: A Review of Animal Models of Absence Epilepsy
The most common type of childhood-onset epilepsy syndrome is childhood absence epilepsy (CAE) with well-defined electro clinical features but unknown pathological basis. The incidence of absence epilepsy is about 2 and 8 out of every 100 000 children up to the age of 16, and the prevalence is 2 and 10% of children with any form of epilepsy. Children with CAE suffer from high rate of pretreatmen...
